VATSIM -> IVAO Transfer Procedure Announced

The IVAO Training Department has recently announced the VATSIM -> IVAO Transfer policy effective August 26, 2008.

The transfer policy allows current VATSIM controllers with a rank of at least Controller (C) to perform a lateral transfer of their rating to the IVAO network. In short, a lateral transfer requires that the member log at least 50 hours on the IVAO network nad pass the IvAc theoretical exam prior to making a transfer application. Once this has been completed, the member can send a request directly to US-HQ who will in turn conduct an over-the-shoulder check with the applicant and then make a recommendation to the Training Department.

For complete details, please visit the Training Department "ATC Rating Transfer" webpage.

Virtual Airline Project Released

The United States Division of IVAO is pleased to announce the release of the long-awaited VA Project.

The VA Project is a cooperative effort between the US Division and the registered US IVAO VA System Member Airlines in order to showcase what our member airlines have to offer. The VA Project includes an events calendar system as well as news system that allows our member airlines to share their upcoming events and items of interest with the US Membership. The VA Project also includes information about each of the airlines as well as an "At-A-Glance" page to allow prospective pilots a chance to see each airline "side-by-side" when making a decision about joining.

Any questions about the VA Project can be directed to virtualairlines@ivaousa.org. The VA Project is managed by the US Flight Operations Department working closely with the member airlines and can be found here.
